Leah Ponds
About Leah
Born in Youngstown, OH, yet raised in Charlotte, NC, Leah Nicole Ponds is a southern girl at heart. At a tender age, her mother noticed that she never drew stick figures and thought that she may have a God-given, artistic talent.
Leah was blessed throughout the years with educators who encouraged her artistic abilities. In 2002, Leah graduated from East Carolina University where she obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Communication, with a concentration in Illustration.
It wasn't until 2004, however, that Leah's life took a turn that would forever change her. Driving to meet a friend one afternoon in December of 2003, a car hit the passenger side of her hatched-backed, compact car, removing her bumper and then driving away in the opposite direction. She was involved in a hit and run accident.
She immediately began thanking God, which was confusing to her because she was living a lifestyle contrary to that which she was taught in church during her teenage years. She made a u-turn, and parked in a parking lot. With tears streaming down her face, she began to talk to God. She made a decision to stop doing things that she knew didn't please God. She didn't understand it then, but that day Jesus Christ rescued her from herself. She made a literal and figurative u-turn that day. She will never know what would have happened had she continued down the road she was traveling.
Over the next few months, Jesus Christ began to pursue Leah like no one ever had. He pulled her out of the lifestyle that she felt trapped in, and on 4/4/04, freed her by opening her eyes and heart to who He truly was: her Savior, her Love and her Friend. That day, she accepted Jesus as the Lord of her life. Since then, He has led Leah to depths of relationship she could only dream of. Jesus has taught her how valuable she is, how much He truly loves her and has given her a life that is richer than she could have ever imagined. Now, Leah seeks to please, honor and glorify God with the gift He has given her.
Please feel free to contact Leah at any time. She will be happy to partner with you on your project, or even pray for you, anonymously, if you have a prayer request.
